Possible Ban Lead in Jewellery – Notification from the Health and Safety Authority

Companies that sell or manufacture jewellery need to be aware that there is a proposed ban on the placing of jewellery containing lead and all its compounds on the EU market.  This may have implications for some organisations.  The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is seeking comments from companies who will be affected by this.  Any comments can be made directly to the ECHA.

The Health and Safety Authority have also asked if companies would make them aware of the impact that the proposed restrictions will place on them.

Any views/comments can be forwarded to the email address: Marketing&use@hsa.ie.
