SFA Pre-Budget 2012 Submission
Members of the SFA National Council will meet with Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan, TD, to present our Pre-Budget 2012 Submission on Thursday, 6th October. The submission focuses on the need to correct the balance between austerity and growth measures and the primary need to restore confidence in the economy to both businesses and households. In particular, we make the case for a broad-ranging government backed loan guarantee scheme; the need for fundamental reform of the social welfare system to ensure that it is not a disincentive to work; the need for radical reform of the public sector to ensure the waste of resources is tackled and that incremental pay increases are stopped; and the introduction of a voluntary PRSI contribution for the self-employed, for those who want to have a social welfare net to fall back on. The full submission can be accessed by clicking here or please contact Patricia Callan at Tel: 01-6051602 or e-mail: patricia.callan@sfa.ie for more information.
